FSL’s Fleet Time Engineering fast response support experts were called into immediate action when the minehunter HMS Ramsey suffered a major failure in her high pressure air system while on operations in the Gulf.

The specialist team of five FSL personnel, supported by a specialist sub-contractor, flew out to Oman at short notice and worked for three weeks removing a wide range of pipe fittings and replacing with new enhanced fittings while the ship was alongside.

It was one of the biggest HP air system modifications that FSL’s Fleet Time Engineering team has carried out and involved removing and replacing hundreds of different elements in the system.
